We all know of our limitless choices for nursing bras. All these different brands claiming to have the “best” or the “most comfortable.” How do you know which one is right for you? There are some questions you can ask yourself when looking for a nursing bra that fits your lifestyle. Some might cause irritation to your skin and others might not fit you well. I personally only used one brand when it came to a nursing bra. That’s because it was well worth the price and lasted a really long time. The quality for me was worth the investment.
I always used the Medela brand nursing bras. I have had friends that use them also and were never disappointed. They are very comfortable and convenient, in a nursing mamas world that is a huge advantage. They have all sorts of bras in their collection including:
Comfort
When looking at a comfortable nursing bra you want to look at the material and how it feels to the touch. You will be spending a lot of time in this bra so you want to get something that you like the feeling of.
Size
When looking at size and how it fits your body shape, it’s important to take into consideration that your breasts might change sizes themselves. In the beginning of breastfeeding you will have more milk and that can cause tightness, resulting in discomfort.
Also, a nursing bra that you have chosen to wear in your 3rd trimester can also fit differently in your postpartum life. With the Medela nursing bras there are only 3 sizes, ranging from small to large. It also had stretchy material so if you choose a medium then there is a little wiggle room.
Affordability
What is your budget? There are bras on the real cheap end that I have bought from Walmart in a money crunch situation that have worked fine… up until they didn’t. If you are crunching for a budget then again going back to looking at the material and size can really help you decide on the best one.
There are obviously more expensive nursing bra brands out there. To me personally, I did not want to invest a ton of money on a nursing bra. But that is a personal choice.
Looking at nursing bras can be a daunting task. Especially if you are a new mother not really knowing which ones to invest in. I hope some of this information was useful to you and I hope you find your perfect fit.
Feel free to share which brand you LOVE to use in your breastfeeding journey.
Much love
