How to use Lemon Essential Oil

The highly fragrant white flower and yellow fruit, I feel like this does not need an introduction. Lemon essential oil (citrus limon) is the most commonly used oil. There is so much goodness in just one bottle of lemon. The essential oil contains vitamins and minerals, we may have used the juice from the lemon itself for other things in our lives.

The lemon tree produces fruit all year round and the lemon oil is made two ways: distillation and cold expression.

When buying lemon essential oil, you will be able to recognize it by its pale yellow color with a sweet fresh fruity aroma. An important fact about lemon is that it is in a category of being a photosensitizer which means that you cannot apply the oil prior to sun exposure. If you do then please wear sunscreen. It may also cause irritation on sensitive skin and if a person has sensitive skin then one should first do a patch test to see if there any sensitivities.

It blends well with most essential oils and is very effective on its own.
